The Pigskin Pickers are in a tight race after all the regular contestants turned in pretty good efforts last week.
After two weeks of picking, there are only three games that separate first-through-fourth place.
Sports writer Sam Dillon, publisher Kevin Behrens, reporter Mac Cordell and sports editor Tim Miller each turned in 9-2 records for the week.
Managing editor Chad Williamson trailed by just a game, going 8-3.
Dillon continues to lead the pack at 18-2, while Behrens, Cordell and Williamson are 16-4.
Miller is right on their heels at 15-5.
Our guest Pickers are Bob Van Hoose of Bob Van Hoose Garage Doors and Sales; Scotts Weeks of Weeks Plumbing, Dave Laslow of Burger King, Dean Cook of Dean Cook Nationwide Insurance, Rob Eubanks of Eubanks Electric and Kellie O’Connors of Buckeye Family Pizzeria.

Disclaimers:
Williamson: “Kind of a lackluster slate of games this week. No real rivalry games in college or high school.”
Miller: “I look for the Fairbanks Panthers to earn their first victory of the season.”
Cordell: “As if games were not difficult enough to predict, between rivalries and injuries and simple matchup problems, the weather could impact nearly all of the games this week — heat on Friday, tropical storms in the south, even high winds for the Cy/Hawk game in Ames.”
Behrens: “If the Monarchs are going to make the playoffs this year, they will need to win out on the road and be the true “Road Warriors” they have been to start the season. It would be interesting to see if the players challenge the staff to get haircuts like the WWF Road Warriors (Mohawk or reverse Mohawk) – if they do make the state tournament. As far as catching up with Dillon in the Pickers race, let’s see if my UCF pick this week has any legs.”
Dillon: “North Union will have a real test on their hands this week. On the road, bigger school, Heath coming off a loss. They will need to be on their game. The Triad/ Madison Plains match up looks to be interesting. Two teams trying to rebuild a system that has little success recently. Coin flip in my book.
Van Hoose: “Go Bucks!”
Weeks: “Good luck to all the local teams!”
Laslow: “Go Bucks!”
Cook: “Go Bucks!”
Eubanks: “Go Bucks!”
O’Connor: Go Bucks!”
