The Pioneers of Jonathan Alder boys track team took the Division II Central District 2 runner-up spot with 103 team points, while the Lady Pioneers took fourth place with 71.5 points.
The high team scores also advance some of their athletes past the districts on to the regional.
The Lady Pioneers’ 4×800 relay team of Morgan Hicks, Reggan Gray, Maddie Davis and Maddy Killian took first place with a time of 9:57.
The boys’ 4×800 relay team of Zach Hicks, Colyn McDaniels, Caleb Freyhof and Luke Malone will also be moving on with a second place finish in a time of 8:37.
The 4×200 relay team of Audrey Davis, Helena Hill, Hailey Lisska and Killian took third place in a time of 1:49 to move on to regionals.
The 4×400 team of Clayton Boggs, Tanner Lumpkin, Henry Walker and Jordan Herrick took third place at the meet with a time of 3:33.
In the individual events, Davis and Ashlyn McDaniels took first and second place in the 1600-meter run in a time of 5:29 and 5:41 respectively to advance, while Malone and Hicks took third and fourth in the same event in a time of 4:32 and 4:46 to represent the Pioneers at the regional meet.
Boggs topped the field in the 400-meter dash in a time of 50.89 to be crowned a district champion.
Killian will run in the 800-meter run along with Gray at the regional meet when Killian took first place in a time of 2:26, while Gray took fourth place in a time of 2:33.
The Pioneers had several distance runners advance in the 3200-meter run with Hicks taking first place in a time of 12:42.
Davis followed for second place in a time of 12:54. Malone took second in the boys’ 3200 in a time of 10:39 to move on to the regional meet.
In the field events, Georgia Wheeler advanced with a toss of 100-08 in the discus, while Daniel Heinig and Luke Stalnaker will continue their seasons at regionals with tosses of 144-10 and 123-02.
The throws were good enough for third and fourth place respectively. Heinig also took third in the shot put with a toss of 49-01 to move on to the regional.
Hall will also compete in the high jump at regionals with a third place height of 4-9 cleared, while teammate Donna Semenishin cleared 4-8, which was good enough for fourth.
Joey Walker was able to clear a height of 5-10 to take third place and move on to regionals.
Hall will move on to regionals in the long jump with a distance of 15-06.25 to take third.
The Panthers of Fairbanks also fared well in the Division III Central District meet with the boys taking second with 81.5 team points and the Lady Panthers finishing in ninth with a team score of 32 points.
The Lady Panthers will advance runners on to regionals in the 4×800 relay as the team of Kadie Carstensen, Adeline Fitzwater, Kalor Greve and Gracie Hubbs took first place with a time of 10:43.
The Panthers’ 4×200 relay team of Nate Timmons, Kaleb Bosworth, Trey Good and Will Cochrane took first place in a time of 1:32.
The 4×100 relay team of Gage Wilson, Kyle Craig, Braeden Fairchild and Good took third place in a time of 45.7.
In the individual events, Will Cochrane finished third in the 400-meter dash in a time of 51.15.
Timmons moved on to regionals in the 300-meter hurdles with a third-place finish in a time of 41.59, while Good will also compete in the 200-meter dash at the regional meet with a fourth place finish in a time of 23.2 at districts.
In the field events, Timmons traveled a distance of 21-07.25 in the long jump to take the district crown, while Braylon green will move on to regionals with a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 20-03.
Parker Horn took second place in the shot put with a toss of 47-03.25.
Jonathan Alder will compete in their Division II regional meet at Lexington High School, while Fairbanks will travel to Lancaster.
