Senior leadership sparked Marysville’s 4-1 varsity tennis victory over Westerville North on Tuesday.
The first doubles team of Maddie Blaisdell and Ellie Williams (senior) won its match in three sets, as did senior Caroline Geraghty at third singles.
Younger players Emma Pzedpelski and the doubles tandem of Krista O’Shelski and Caitlee Hill won matches to give MHS (9-5 overall and 3-2 in the Ohio Capital Conference) a 2-1 lead.
The Marysville seniors sealed the deal with their victories.
Singles
-Pzedpelski (M) beat McMahon 6-2, 6-3;
-Hanna Hogan (M) lost by a DQ to Madie Poling;
-Geraghty (M) downed Preston 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Doubles
-Williams and Blaisdell (M) turned back Wiesgrogher and Sewell 6-1, 6-7, 6-1;
-O’Shelski and Hill (M) claimed a 6-3, 6-4 verdict over Buss and DiCarlo.
