The Lady Monarch soccer squad improved to 3-2-1 with a 2-1 triumph at Westerville North on Thursday.
The hard-fought battle was scoreless at halftime.
Kindall Duke and Maddi Shumway each scored unassisted goals in the second half.
MHS falls
Marysville’s boys soccer team dropped a 3-0 verdict to St. Francis DeSales on Thursday.
The Stallions, who are ranked No. 1 in the state Division II poll, scored on three set pieces, which proved to be the difference in the game.
Mason Taylor had 14 saves for the Monarchs, who are now 3-1-2.
The Monarch jayvee squad beat DeSales during the preliminary match by a score of 1-0.
Wyatt Griffith tallied the lone goal.
FHS falls
Fairbanks’ boys dropped a 4-1 verdict at Olentangy Berlin.
The lone goal for the Panthers came off a corner kick by Nathan Vollrath.
Mason Smith picked up the ball and headed it into the net for the score.
FHS keeper Weston Lorenz had seven saves on the night.
After three straight road games, the varsity team will host Greenon at noon on Saturday.
The Panther JVs played to a 0-0 tie as Cade Ziegler covered the goal for eight saves.
