The Marysville Stingrays Swim Team opened the 2020 season on Wednesday with a “Glow Party” intra-squad meet at the Marysville Municipal Pool.
The squad will not compete in the NEW League this year due to the lack of teams.
The number of teams was reduced due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are hosting our own meets this year,” said coach Kristin Williams. “All of our meets will be among our own squad and we will have different themes for each meet.
“We have also decided to mix in fun relays into each meet,” she said. “In the races on Wednesday, swimmers had to push a neon-colored water bottle down the pool and pass it off to the next person.”
The fun relays were done during the 10 and under medley relays and for the 11 and over free relays.
