The Marysville Stingrays boys and girls swim teams opened the 2017 season over the weekend with victories over Sycamore Hills.
The boys won 1,497-886, while the girls triumphed 1,817-1,054.
There were 60 events in the meet, with 44 individual races and 16 relays.
The Stingrays took 44 first-place finishes. Of that number, 31 came during individual events.
The local teams tallied 30 runner-up spots and 28 third-place finishes.
“The coaching staff and I are extremely proud of every swimmer here today,” said head coach Kristin Williams. “Each one has learned and progressed so much in such a short period of time. We are looking forward to what the rest of the season has in store.”
