Triad placed fifth and Fairbanks was eighth during the annual Ohio Heritage Conference wrestling tournament.
The event was held at Greeneview.
Mechanicsburg captured first-place honors with 235.5 points.
The Indians were followed by Greenon-187.5, Greeneview-161.5, West Jefferson-109, Triad-106, Southeastern-65, West Liberty-64, Fairbanks-35.5 and Northeastern-0.
Awsom Mitchell of Triad won both of his matches and took first-place in the 165-pound weight class.
Other placers for the Cardinals were:
-Logan Harper (1-1), second at 138;
-Lindsey Walborn (0-2), fourth at 126;
-Cayden Everhart (2-2), fourth at 144;
-Tucker Webb (2-2), fourth at 215:
-Ty Thomas (2-2), fourth at 215;
-Kyle Walborn (0-2), fifth at 175;
-John Downey (0-2), fifth at 285;
-Reid Todhunter (1-3), sixth at 150.
All three Fairbanks grapplers placed.
Tyler Coy (144) was third, Joe Pacheco (132) was fourth and Austin Coy (150) finished fifth.
The Panthers will return to action on Wednesday when they host Jonathan Alder and Buckeye Valley.
The next competition for the Triad Cardinals will be Friday and Saturday.
The team will compete during the Thunderbird Invitational at Lima Central Catholic High School.
