Triad’s softball team clubbed Russia, 11-0, in five innings for a Division IV tournament victory on Friday.
Olivia Butz tallied three of the Lady Cardinals’ 12 hits, while Shelby Sheets added two.
Triad held a 5-0 lead after three innings and added six scores in the bottom of the fourth.
Joni Russell won the game in the pitching circle. She allowed only one hit.
The Lady Cardinals will take a 13-9 record into Tuesday’s tournament game against Bradford.
The contest will be played at Newton High School.
Monarchs fall
Marysville’s varsity baseball team dropped an 8-1 verdict at Hilliard Davidson.
Andrew Van Hoose took the pitching loss for the Monarchs.
The Wildcats rapped 11 hits and took advantage of four MHS errors.
MHS slipped to 13-11 overall and 9-6 in the Ohio Capital Conference Central Division.
FHS drops game
The Panther baseball squad was edged by Northridge, 6-5.
Mason Cushman started on the mound for FHS and lasted 2 1/3 innings.
Alex Jones pitched in relief and was tagged with the loss.
Connor Pack had two hits and drove in a pair of runs as the Panthers slipped to 17-7.
Alder triumphs
Jon Alder pitcher Luke Shepherd limited Graham to just three hits.
As a result, the Pioneers (16-5) won the Central Buckeye Conference game, 4-0.
JA scored its runs over the fourth through sixth innings.
