The Cardinals upped their overall record to 6-9 and their Ohio Heritage Conference mark at 4-8 with a 58-49 verdict over Mechanicsburg.
The Indians slipped to 2-10 with the setback.
Sanford tallied six points during the first period.
Triad took an 18-7 margin into the ensuing quarter and a 37-22 spread at the halftime turn.
Sanford added eight points during the third period, enabling the Cardinals to climb to a 47-33 margin.
Sanford was joined in double figures by Ayden Spriggs-12 and Cameron Thomas-10.
Carson Manley scored five, Caleb Thomas tossed in four and Kane Bailey added two.
Triad will host Shekinah Christian this evening.

JA triumphs
Jonathan Alder’s boys upped their record to 10-4 with a 45-37 victory at arch-rival London.
JA jumped out to a 14-4 lead at the end of the first quarter and took a 24-16 halftime lead.
The margin stood at 33-28 after three periods.
The Pioneers, who will play at Indian Lake on Tuesday, hit 44% from the floor.
The Red Raiders sank only 33% of their shots.
Peyton Heiss and Grant Welsch respectively led Alder with 19 and 10 points.
Taber Headings tallied six, followed by Tyler Begin-five, Reed Van Kirk-three and Joey Walker-two.

Panthers drop game
Fairbanks slipped to 8-8 with a 45-39 loss to West Liberty-Salem.
The contest was tightly contested all evening.
The Tigers held an 11-8 edge after the opening quarter.
FHS, which will play at Mechanicsburg on Tuesday, tied the battle at 18 by halftime.
West Liberty took a 31-30 lead into the third quarter and held off the Panthers over the final eight minutes of action.

A six-point third quarter helped lead to Marysville’s 47-40 boys hoop loss at Hilliard Darby.
The Monarchs held a 13-10 lead by the end of the first quarter, but the Panthers took a 29-24 margin at halftime.
MHS trailed 40-30 as the fourth quarter began.
Jason Moore scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Marysville.
