April Ward pitched a one-hitter on Tuesday as Fairbanks’ varsity softball squad rolled to a 19-1 triumph over Cedarville.
Ward fanned eight and gave up just one walk as FHS improved its overall record to 7-9 and its Ohio Heritage Conference mark to 4-6.
The Lady Panthers (who will play at Bishop Ready today) plated 16 runs over the first two innings.
Allison Kise had a trio of hits and drove in three runs.
Mack Greene and Madi Montenaro each tallied a pair of hits.
Green also had three RBIs.
“April pitched a great game,” said FHS coach Amy Sines.

Triad squads triumph
Triad’s softball team upped its overall record to 9-4 and its Ohio Heritage Conference mark to 7-2 with a 10-0 victory over Greeneview.
Kendell Hughes went three-for-three at the plate to lead the Lady
Cardinals during the 4 ½ inning game.
Shelby Sheets, Olivia Butz and Holly Alvoid each tallied a pair of hits.
Joni Russell started in the pitching circle and notched the win.
Sidney Louck pitched in relief for Triad.
The Lady Cardinals will travel to Madison Plains on Friday.

Jacob Jenkins ripped a walk-off, two-run double in the bottom of the 10th as Triad’s baseball squad rallied for a 9-8 win over Greeneview.
Batai Lease led the Cardinals (7-8) with four hits in five trips to the plate.
Ayden Spriggs struck out 10 and allowed four hits to pick up the win.
Triad will host Riverside on Thursday in a non-conference game.

Marysville’s eighth-grade softball squad downed North Union, 13-5.
Abby Christian hit a two-run homer in the third inning, while Hannah Pack contributed a solo dinger.
Abri Schumtz, Tareyn Born and Haley Winans all drove in runs for the Lady Monarchs.
Born picked up the victory in the pitching circle.
She allowed six hits and fanned four.
Jada Davis and Zoe Wedding had multiple hits for the Lady Cats.
Laine Sparks took the pitching loss for NU.
