Fairbanks pitcher Braxton Wilhelm tossed a three-hitter and was supported by a stout offense during the Panthers’ 12-2 victory at Grandview on Tuesday.
The Bobcats (17-5) held a 2-0 lead after the opening frame, but FHS (16-6) tallied 10 runs over the course of the second and third innings.
The Panthers plated single runs in the fourth and fifth to invoke the run rule.
Wilhelm struck out three and walked four.
He helped himself at the plate with three hits and also drove in a pair of runs.
Mason Cushman went three-for-three and had two RBIs.
Connor Pack, Alex Blumenschein and Alex Jones each had two hits.
Jones drove in four runs.
Ryker Beaty had one of FHS’ 13 hits.
The Panthers will travel to Mechanicsburg today.

JA teams win
Jonathan Alder upped its baseball record to 15-5 with a 3-2 victory over Northwestern.
JA tied the game at 1-1 with a score in the bottom of the third.
Alder again deadlocked the contest at 2-2 in the fourth.
The Pioneers tallied the winning run in the seventh.
Tyler Hilbert picked up the win for JA as he scattered three hits.

The Lady Pioneers (21-1) plated 10 runs during the first two frames and had no trouble taking the contest by the run rule.
Marlee Jacobs was the winning pitcher for Alder as she tossed a one-hitter.
