Local youth golfers braved the heat and humidity on Tuesday for the third tournament on the Union County Junior Golf Academy-Tour.
Temperatures soared into the upper 80s with heavy humidity as young linksmen competed at Rolling Meadows Golf Club.
“It’s going to be hot today,” said program director Eli Morris. “We’re making sure the kids have plenty of water.”
Travis Brake scorched the course with an 18-hole score of 68 to capture top honors in the Tour boys competition.
Cassady VanDyke was the lone Tour girl to break 100 for 18 holes. She won that division with a 97.
Olivia Ishmael won the Tour girls event for nine holes as she carded a 67.
Mason Rausch turned in a nine-hole score of 44 to claim top accolades in the Academy division.

Academy (nine holes)
