The Fourth Sunday of Easter was celebrated May 12 at the Milford Center United Methodist Church. Worship aides for the service were Ben Connolly bell ringer, Ann and Ben Connolly greeters, Ben Connolly acolyte, Dave and Kim Althouse ushers and Michelle Lobdell pianist. A Mother’s Day litany was read. Scripture readings were Psalm 23 and Revelation 7:9-17. The Rev. Pamela Connolly’s sermon was “The Good Shepherd.” The anthem “You Are My Hiding Place” was reverently sung by the choir. Potted plants were give to mothers present. Fellowship time followed the service.
Senior news
Windsor and Community Seniors enjoy their activities at the senior center on Rosehill Drive, Marysville. Exercise classes Monday and Wednesday, Tracie’s chair yoga Monday, chair volleyball Tuesday and Tai Chi and line dancing Friday keep seniors moving. Other diversions are Monday euchre, Tuesday bingo, Wednesday dominoes, Thursday card games of Hand and Foot and pinochle and Friday Hand and Foot, Wii bowling and dominoes. New is corn hole games Wednesday and Friday.
Warm Up America and Crochet Buddies meet Monday and Crochet Buddies again on Wednesday.
May 24 a group will travel to Delaware to the Bare Bowl Pottery to observe and make a pottery piece. Lunch will be at the Restoration Brew Works.
Community and Seasoned Citizens have their activities at the center on Columbus Avenue, Marysville. They include line dancing Monday and Friday, Krafty Knitters and euchre at 6 p.m. Monday, exercise and card/board games Tuesday and Thursday and crafts Wednesday.
The Third Monday Book Club meets May 20 at 2 p.m. to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the beginning of the club. Members will be contacted with the location.
Friday a group will leave at 12:30 p.m. for lunch at the Sweet Carrot in Dublin. This is also the day for the senior food box pickup and delivery from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Area happenings
The Fairbanks Alumni Association dinner is Saturday, May 18, with gathering at 5:30 p.m. and dinner served at 6 p.m. Special classes will be honored from schools of Union Local, Chuckery-Darby, Union Rural and Fairbanks.
The Union Township Fire Department is organizing the Memorial Day parade May 27. Lineup at the fire department is 12:30 p.m. with the parade starting at 1 p.m. all military veterans are invited to attend as well as organizations and interested persons.
