SSP produces two full-length shows per year, in addition to smaller productions, such as dinner theaters and participating in community activities such as “Legends of Marysville” and The Maize’s “Field of Fright” in October. The contribution continues Silver Scene Players “community giveback” vision as the group has raised more than $20,000 for various Union County non-profits. This includes $1,314 for Union County Neighbor to Neighbor, $5,355 for Dolly Parton Imagination Library and the Youth, Education, Arts and Recreation Grant Funds (United Way of Union County); $2,151 for Bridges Community Action Partnership; $1,160 for Wings Enrichment Center; $800 for Lifeline Christian Missions; $1,700 for New Path Pregnancy Resource Center; $1,400 for Youth Missions; $1,231 for the Marysville Food Pantry; $1,116 for The Union County Humane Society; $1,392 for The Hope Center of Marysville; and $2,100 for The Combined Food Pantries of Union County. The theatre group is currently planning for its fall production, “A Bad Year for Tomatoes,” scheduled for Nov. 1-3 at Union County Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
