Triad’s softball and baseball teams are still on the hunt for their first wins of the season.
On Wednesday, the Lady Cardinals dropped an Ohio Heritage Conference game against Mechanicsburg 8-0, while the Cardinal baseball team fell 10-2 to Graham.
The Lady Indians came out strong against Joni Russell, who was inside the circle for Triad.
Mechanicsburg picked up a single run in the first inning and pounced on the senior pitcher in the second for five additional scores.
After a long stretch in the middle innings of no offense, Mechanicsburg added insurance runs in the top of the seventh inning for the final score.
Cati LeVan was the Lady Cardinals’ high point as she went two-for-three at the plate as Triad slipped to 0-4.

The Falcons opened up scoring early Wednesday against Ryan Gross, who was on the bump for the Cardinals.
Gross gave up four earned runs in the first inning as Graham took a 5-0 lead by the end of the frame.
The Falcons continued to pour it on, picking up runs in the second and third to stretch their lead to 7-0 after three.
The Cardinals tallied six hits, but struggled to string them together until late in the game.
Blake Boldman knocked in a run in the sixth inning as Triad closed the gap to 7-2.
Graham answered in the top of the seventh inning with three runs to close out the contest.
The Cardinals are now 0-2 for the season.
