The grapplers of Marysville push their season record to 4-1 after claiming a victory over Gahanna Wednesday 50-18. The Monarchs where able to collect the victory with ease winning 10 of the 14 matches set for the meet.
“I thought we wrestled well for this part of the season, we need to continue to get in better shape and wrestle through the scrambles of the match rather than one move at time,” said head coach Shawn Andrews.
The Marysville matmen results are as follows:
Quentin Miller (106) won by forfeit, Michael Jones (113) won by pin fall, Jamieson Bigler lost by a decision of 9-7, Payne Miller (126) won by a decision of 8-6, Jayden Simmons (138) lost by pin fall, Sam Shroyer (145) won by a major decision of 14-5, Walker Heard (152) won by a technical fall of 21-6, Jake Marsh (160) won by pin fall, Tyler Bates (170) won by a technical fall by 18-3, Nathan DeWitt (182) won by a decision of 5-2, Jacob Legge (195) lost by a 9-5 decision, Logan Painter (220) won by disqualification, Tyler Connolly (285) won by pin fall.
The junior varsity grapplers also competed against Gahanna on Wednesday and found similar success with 10 victories out of the 12.

Nathan Thompson (113) won by pin fall, Lucas Moser (138) won by pin fall, Lincoln Heard (145) won by pin fall, Jadin Natividad (152) won by an injury decision, Garrett Seger (152) won by pin fall, Nathan Morey (152) won by pin fall, Joey Robinson (152) lost by a decision of 9-8, Parker Reese (160) lost by a major decision of 14-2, Zach Lowe (170) won by a technical fall of 25-9, Grant Marshall (182) won by pin fall, 220: Joseph Palmer (220) won by pin fall, Steven Shamhart (285) won by pin fall.
The Monarchs will next face off at the Walsh Ironman Tournament on Friday when they send Heard, Marsh, Bates and Connolly to represent Marysville.
The remaining Monarchs will compete at the Kilted Klassic Invitational.
