With the 42nd annual All Ohio Balloon Fest to take place Thursday through Aug. 12, 79 local runners came to compete in the All Ohio Balloon Fest 5K Run. The run began at Mill Valley Central Park, followed the Jim Simmons trail and snaked its way through the City of Marysville before coming to a halt at Sixth and Main streets
The first runner to stride across the line was Laura Kaulen of Hilliard. Kaulen cruised to the top spot in a time of 18:33. David Gross of Prospect didn’t let his feet come to stop until he crossed the finish line in a time of 19:58 to take the silver medal. Mark Reams of Marysville finished the 3.1-mile course in a time of 20:24 to bring home the bronze.
In the men’s 1 to 19 age group Davis Gross was able to cross the line in a time of 20:32 to finish first. Chris Isler ran his way to 2nd in a time of 20:49. Lukas Pever claimed 3rd in 23:34. Aiden Grome grabbed 4th in a time of 26:40 while Canon Ehier finished in 5th in a time of 26:46.
In the women’s 1 to 19 age group Chayse Arnhold claimed first place with a 22:17 effort. Laney Pever took 2nd with a time of 27:29 and Chloe Ehler finished in 3rd in a time of 36:43.
Brian Hardiman was the only runner in the men’s 20 to 29 category and was able to fish the race in a time of 25:15
The women’s 20 to 29 running class Sydney Crawley crossed the finish line in a time of 23:08 to claim first place. Addie Rife came in 2nd with a time of 29:22 and Katie Dixon finished in 3rd in 46:47.
In the men’s 30 to 39 class William Romine grabbed first place in a time of 21:24. Dan Grome raced his way to 2nd in a time of 21:42, while Keith Pever rounded out the top three in a time of 21:53.
In the women’s 30 to 39 age category Michelle Pever claimed the top spot with a time of 24:21. Tanvi Banerjee completed the course in a time of 24:28 to claim 2nd and Carla Cave came in 3rd with a time of 25:08.
In the men’s 40 to 49 class Gross, who had the second fast time overall, also claimed the top spot. Jonathan Arnhold came in 2nd with a time of 21:25 while Brian Herber was right on his heels for a third place finish in a time of 21:29.
In the women’s 40 to 49 age group Kaulen claimed the top spot with here first place overall finish. Pamela Carroll raced to 2nd place with a time of 25:38 and Kate Gross claimed 3rd with a time of 28:13.
In the men’s 50 to 59 group Reams, who finished 3rd overall, claimed the top spot. Bill Price came in 2nd with a time of 20:53 and David Eder claimed 3rd with a run time of 21:47.
In the women’s 50 to 59 age group Sara Endsley came in 1st with a time of 30:06. Angie Sharp finished 2nd with a time of 33:30 and Pam Moose rounded out the top three with a time of 46:23.
In the men’s over 60 category Steve Gradeless claimed the top spot with a time of 24:04. Jeff Chambers grabbed 2nd with a time of 31:44 and Mark Leibold raced to a 3rd place finish with a time of 34:17
In the women’s over 60 category Leslie Chambers best the pack with a time of 30:03. Margaret Thorton came in 2nd with a time of 45:35 and Linda Watson rounded out the top three with a time of 53:02.
