The North Union grapplers opened their season with back-to-back wins during a dual meet setup against Franklin Heights and Westerville Central. The Cats beat Franklin Heights, 48-18, during the opening round, followed up by a 42-39 victory over Westerville Central.
The Wildcats’ results were as follows:
Samantha Cox (113) fell in both matches, Hayden Pacha (120) won both matches with one pin, Austin Jamison (126) won both matches by pin fall, Nick Miller (132) won both matches by pin fall, Chase Wedding (132) won one bout, Jed Buckingham (138) won one match by pin fall,
Jeremiah Brill (145) split his matches with one pin fall, Sam Le (152) fell in both bouts, Skyler Cowgill (170) went 1-1 with one pin fall, Chris Cox-McComas (170) won his match by pin fall, Chris Cox-Wilson (182) won both matches by pin fall,
Trace Conrad (195) won both matches by pin fall, Kane Beltz (195) won his match by pin fall, Alec O’Reilly lost both matches and Dylan Thompson won both matches by pin fall.
NU will return to the mats Saturday to compete in the Jimmy Mac Duals.
