Church

Pastor Tim Burden’s sermon at the West Mansfield Methodist church was “ The Temptation of Jesus”, Bible reading from Matthew 4:1-11.

Worship team Cole Cronkleton and Matthew Burden, Alter candles were Kinley Kerns and Emarie Carpenter, Audio/ Visual was Jim Culp, Elliot Carpenter and Evan Etherington. Beth Burden and Julia Smith had children’s church.

Homecoming Queen Lydia Johnson and King was Diesel  Baughman, Congratulations.

Boys Cross country placed 11th out of 22 teams at the Max Evans Cross country Invitational at Ohio Caverns.

Boys Soccer won over Northwestern 6-1 in CBC play.

Lady Raiders Volleyball won over Springfield Shawnee in 3 sets in CBC play, Georgia Daniels led the lady Raiders with 12 kills, Summer Cline had 8 kills and Abby Vance added 6 kills.

Lady Raiders Volleyball beat Bellefontaine in three sets in CBC play in Homecoming week, Georgia Daniels led the lady Raiders with 11 kills, Summer Cline had 10 Kills and Abby Vance had 8 kills.

Lady Raider Volleyball beat Bethel in 3 sets.

Girls Soccer beat Northwestern 2-0 in CBC play.

Area News

Saturday, October 3rd at 4:30 is the fish fry at the West Mansfield Conservation Club, eat in or carry out available.

Friday, October 9th from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Chicken dinner by Smokehouse 101, at 234 North Washington St, Mount Victory, orders must be turned in by October 2nd.

Friday, October 9th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at 1973 St. Rt. 47, Bellefontaine, is the Annual chicken BBQ, benefits Logan county board of DD foundation.

Sunday, October 11th from 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Community Fall Festival at 10831 Rd 29, Zanesfield, Marmon Valley Farm. Hayrides, pony rides, and more.

Starting October 13th every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. is BINGOcize, at the West Mansfield Hays community building, this is a free 10 week health promotion program, its combines exercises with bingo, call 937-651-6194 to sign up.

Saturday, October 17th 3rd Annual Car/Bike show, In Memory of Makayla Brandyberry, registration from 10:00 a.m.-Noon, Awards presented at 3:00 p.m., 2096 Co Rd 24 South, DeGraff, music, food and vendors. All proceeds go to Memorial scholarship fund.

Saturday, October 17th from 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Ring of Lights walk at Blue Jacket Park in Bellefontaine, grades pre k thru 2nd grade.

Sunday, October 18th from Noon-5:00 p.m. 1000 Snow Valley Rd, Zanesfield. Mad River Mountain Family fall festival, food trucks, face painting, pumpkin decorating, corn hole tourney and more.

Monday, October 19th is the village council meet at the West Mansfield Hays community building, anyone is welcome to attend.

Saturday, October 24th from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Craft/Vendor event at Riverside auditorium, DeGraff, crafts, gifts, food and more.

Saturday, October 31st from 5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. 213 Walnut St, Belle Center, Church of Christ fall festival, games, pumpkin painting and snacks.

Ben Logan Students send message 50 years into the future

Benjamin Logan fifth graders enjoy Timbits while revisiting letters they wrote last spring as part of the school’s “Future Me” project. The letters, inspired by the opening of a 1976 West Mansfield Elementary time capsule, describe life as a fourth grader in 2026 and will be stored until 2076.
