Over the summer, six NHS and FCCLA members from Fairbanks, as well as a couple of Junior Fair Board members, teamed up to provide meals to the auction buyers at the Union County Fair.
It all started with a call from Jon Cook the spring before asking if the groups were willing to help, and they all jumped on the opportunity.
This act of community service, serving pulled pork, coleslaw and beans, was such a success that numbers of those served were not counted and those six members have been invited back for another round of feeding the buyers.
