Dear Editor
I have been discouraged by the erosion of freedoms over the past couple decades due to things like the patriot act and NSA spying on U.S. citizens. Our government has even decided it is ok to use a drone to drop a bomb on one of our citizens.
Recently the loss of freedom and liberty is accelerating due government restrictions blamed on COVID 19.
We have been told business have to close and even curfews have been issued.
You need look no further than Australia to see people locked up in their homes and not allowed to leave except 1 hour a day for exercise or groceries. They have to wear a mask even when driving a car by themselves.
Now, many people have to sacrifice their freedom to decide their own medical care if they want to stay employed. Many employers are mandating the vaccine.
I wrote my local state representative Tracy Richardson’s office asking them to join other Republicans in banning corporate vaccine mandates in the state of Ohio.
A representative from her office quickly called me back to say she opposed vaccine mandates. Before saying goodbye I decided I should ask for more details.
When pushed the representative said …well we have not decided our stance on corporate mandates. We are against government mandates. Never mind that my letter only mentioned corporate mandates.
Representative Richardson’s office attempted to make me think she was backing my views by using vague language and parsing words.
When I pushed for direct answers I found out she does not stand with me to block corporate mandates that limit our medical freedom.
I am discouraged by the tactics used to try and fool me into thinking she agreed with me. Make no mistake the representative from her office was hoping I would hang up and feel good that she backed my view.
Even our local politicians in Ohio seem to lack integrity. We need to vote in people who give straight answers and do what they promise to do. Not politicians that parse words and try to hide their views and intentions.
