The 2019 Taste of Marysville is just around the corner, and this year’s event will be more than just a preview of local food vendors; it will also give guests a taste of an event to come later this summer.
New and old vendors from around Union County will set up 20 booths to provide samples of a wide variety of foods from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Marysville High School Field House, 800 Amrine Mill Road.
Admission is free but to enjoy the tasty treats, guests will have to purchase taste tickets. The tickets are eight for $10.
The Vine Church volunteers will be bussing tables and assisting guests again this year to help things run smoothly.
“The Vine Church did a great job last year and had the idea to donate the proceeds to the Hope Center again this year,” Said Marie Woodford, event coordinator. “The Hope Center will receive $1 for each person who attends.”
There are a few new vendors this year, including Jonuts Donuts, Where There’s Smoke, Crazy Burrito, Costco, Goodies Galore and The Red Shed. Returning vendors from last year are Roosters, The Half Pint, D&S Kettle Corn, Stir Fresh Asian Canteen, Jersey Mike’s Subs, The Vine Of Marysville and Pepsi, while Starbucks and The Raymond House return after a one-year hiatus.
“There is plenty of space in the field house,” said Woodford. “There should be enough room for everyone.”
Dan Rice and his Ragtime band are back and will entertain throughout the night beginning at 5:30 p.m.
“We are looking forward to them coming back to entertain the crowd and vendors at the 2019 Taste of Marysville,” said Woodford. “They were a fan favorite last year and we expect more of the same this year.”
Several event sponsors will also be on display including the presenting sponsor Pathways Financial Credit Union and title sponsor Walnut Crossing. The placemats are provided by Primrose School.
In addition to vendors and entertainers, The All Ohio Balloon Fest will offer guests an opportunity to purchase specially priced tickets for the event.
The first 500 general admission tickets weekend passes, which covers Friday night’s concert by former Staind frontman Aaron Lewis, will be available that night during the event.
“This will give local fans the first opportunity to buy before they go on the website,” said Balloon Fest Coordinator Kevin Behrens. “The tickets will be $10 and will also go on sale on www.eventbrite.com the following day.”
The All Ohio Balloon Fest, which will also benefit the Hope Center, will run from Aug. 8-10 at the Union County Airport. The event will also feature 80’s rock group, 38 Special for a special Thursday night concert.
