Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in a Monday crash on Raymond Road that sent the driver to the hospital. The Union County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. The driver, whose name was unavailable at press time, was traveling northbound Monday at 4:21 p.m. when the driver lost control, drove off the road and struck a utility pole. According to Anthony Smith of Union Rural Electric, the initial outage impacted “less than 100” customers, though he said a total of 273 customers were temporarily without power during repairs. Service was completely restored by about 8:15 p.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Liberty Township Fire Department responded to the crash.
