The Plain City Police Department is searching for two suspects following an armed robbery in the village Sunday evening.
Lt. Tom Jaskiewicz said officers responded to the Marathon at 525 W. Main St. at 8:53 p.m. Sunday for a report of a robbery underway.
Once officers arrived at the scene, the suspects were already gone.
“They were in and out in about a minute,” Jaskiewicz said.
He added that officers were able to determine that two subjects entered the business, both with firearms, went behind the counter and “demanded” the employees empty the cash register.
The suspects “were able to make away with some cash,” although the amount is not yet clear because employees are still “tabulating.”
“Obviously the employees were shaken up,” Jaskiewicz said.
He said no one was “injured or harmed” during the incident.
Officers are currently reviewing security footage from within the business and canvassing the area surrounding the business, which is residential, to see if any witnesses saw or heard anything that may be useful to PCPD.
Those with information are asked to contact Detective Philip Greenbaum by calling (937) 873-2921.
