A portion of Unionville Road will be closed through early October. Earlier this week, renovation began on the concrete bridge over Big Darby Creek. Union County Engineer Jeff Stauch said the bridge in Darby Township was built in the late 1960s and is an important link between Robinson Road and Middleburg Plain City Road at Unionville Center. The project comes with a $662,000 price tag. A Community Development Block Grant will cover 42 percent of the cost of construction while revenue from our share of the quarter percent sales tax will make up the rest. Officials said the project should be completed and the road reopened in early October, weather permitting. Those with questions about the closure can be directed to the Union County Engineer’s Office at (937) 645-3018.
