CHILESKI
––––
Memorial Health Board members learned Monday night that Andrew Chileski has been selected to fill the health system’s newly created Chief Information Officer (CIO) position.
As part of the system leadership team of Memorial, Chileski will be responsible for all information technology and strategy for Memorial Hospital and all Memorial Health affiliates. He will be responsible for assisting system leaders on matters of technological advancements and integration within the system.
Chileski comes to Memorial from Berger Health System in Circleville, where he led their IT initiatives for more than 19 years. His most recent position was as Berger’s CIO and Vice President of Support Services where he reportedly showed strong technical skills, business acumen and strategic focus.
“Andy appreciates the fact that we are an independent health system and he honors the commitment we all have to making decisions that benefit our patients,” Chip Hubbs, CEO/President of Memorial Health, said in a release. “His reputation as a leader, strong collaborator, change agent and a man of high integrity were appealing to us as so much is evolving quickly in our industry. I am confident he will build on our existing strengths to advance our IT initiatives even further in support of delivering the very best patient care.”
An Army veteran, Chileski holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh and an MS in the same discipline from Century University. He and his family will be relocating to the area this summer.
Chileski will assume the position on July 30.
In other business, the board:
-Heard a construction update on the new in-patient and out-patient facilities. Crews have begun pouring concrete foundations for the in-patient tower and the first delivery of steel for the project is expected soon. Construction barriers for the out-patient site will be put up soon and that project will trail the in-patient tower work by about three months.
-Heard and overview from Hubbs on the various properties owned by Memorial Health.
-Approved a $40,000 transfer for software upgrades in the hospital mammography department.
-Learned from Hubbs that of the six school districts served by Memorial’s sports medicine services, four receive marketing money in exchange for signage and other considerations. Marysville recently approved a new contract with Memorial which included a $220,000 payment.
In previous years, Memorial had not made a payment to Marysville due to the fact that the district was larger than the others and required the services of more than one athletic trainer. Hubbs said the district is free to use the money in any capacity within the athletic department.
