The Union County Concert Association will offer residents the opportunity to hear The Scioto Valley Brass & Percussion Band on Wednesday.
The Columbus-based group will hold a concert at Bunsold Middle School at 7:30 p.m.
The Scioto Valley Brass & Percussion Band will take the audience on a musical expedition presenting its special summer program called “Road Trip” for the Marysville audience. From the production of great American composers, the audience will be treated to a musical road trip across the country, world and stars, adding fun, flair and comedy to the selections.
The road trip begins in “The Big Apple” featuring “New York, New York.” Then on to Philadelphia to relive Rocky’s run up the library steps which has been featured in six films made in Hollywood. Then the crowd heads to Dixie with a stop in Memphis to listen to Elvis’s “Help, I’m falling in love.” Then off to the beaches in the 50th state to enjoy the theme music to “Hawaii Five-O.”
Extending the trip to the old country to enjoy the classic “April in Paris” and then to the flying bikes of music of the theme from “E.T. The -Extra Terrestrial.” Lastly, the crowd will have dinner listening to the background music to the “Star Wars Skywalker Theme”.
This is Dr. Christopher Hoch 15th year as director of the SVBPCO band. He also is director of the OSU Marching Band and the University Athletic Band. The band creates a musical medley that hits all the scores and jazzy highlights.
