The Ohio State Highway Patrol recently released details of a motorcycle crash that left a Plain City man dead.
About 6:13 p.m. Sept. 20, 60-year-old Daniel Weizenecker was driving his 2017 Harley Davidson Screamin Eagle 110 southwest on Amity Pike in Canaan Township in northeast Madison County.
According to troopers, Weizenecker lost control of his motorcycle, went off the right side of the road, and crashed into a utility pole. Weizenecker, the only person on the motorcycle, was thrown from his motorcycle and landed a short distance away.
He was transported to Dublin Methodist Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead Sunday night.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Officials do not believe speed or impairment to be factors in the crash.
Weizenecker was wearing a helmet.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Pleasant Township Fire and EMS, Ohio Edison and Flynn’s Towing.
