The schedule is set for the fourth annual Marysville Pride Fest this weekend at Partners Park.
Event organizers released the schedule Thursday, which is put on each year by the Union County Rainbow Coalition (UCRC), a 501(c)3 nonprofit.
Activities will include live entertainment, food trucks, art activities and vendors on Saturday in the Uptown area.
The event starts at 3 p.m. and will feature a series of activities starting right away including announcing the logo contest winner and having the first guest speaker.
There will be a total of four speakers at the event talking throughout the day on topics ranging from allyship to religion.
In fact, one of the speakers will be Pastor Joelle Henneman, the senior pastor of the United Methodist Church for All People.
Henneman served in the Air Force for 20 years, attended Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas and served as a pastor in the Central Texas Conference. Henneman moved to Columbus in 2015 to fulfill a “second calling of ministry with the poor.”
The UCRC held the first Pride event in 2021 when members of several groups came together to begin planning a community event to celebrate the LGBTQIA2S+ youth and residents of Union County. The first idea for the event was a picnic, but then it grew to a larger festival from there.
