A Columbus man is facing a fifth charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated as well as other drug and weapons charges.
The Union County Grand Jury has indicted Kandale Leon Harrison, 44, of Columbus. Harrison is charged with possession of cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, carrying a concealed weapon and having weapons under disability.
According to court documents, about 1:35 a.m., Aug. 30, Harrison was driving west on U.S. 33 in Millcreek Township, when he was clocked going 95 miles per hour.

When he was pulled over, the trooper learned Harrison was driving on a suspended license. The trooper suspected the man of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, though he refused to be tested.
A search of the man’s car revealed both heroin and a loaded handgun. While there was less than five grams of cocaine, court documents indicate the drugs were intended for sale.
According to court documents, Harrison has four prior OVI convictions. Additionally, he is prohibited from owning a gun due to a series of prior felony drug, weapons and assault convictions.
If convicted on the new Union County charges, Harrison could face as many as eight and a half years in prison. Additionally, prosecutors are looking to seize the gun found in the car.
Harrison is currently in the Logan County Jail on charges of possession of drugs, resisting arrest, failure to comply with the order of signal of a police officer, having weapons under disability, tampering with evidence and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
Also indicted was:
– Lawrence Bowman, 36, of Columbus. Bowman is charged with one count each of theft and possessing criminal tools.
On Jan 11, officers were called to the Meijer store on Coleman’s Crossing for a theft in progress. A Meijer employee had watched a man, later identified as Bowman, being elusive and concealing merchandise.
Bowman was seen using a pocket knife and a pair of wire snips to cut the anti-theft devices off packages. When police arrived, they saw Bowman leave the store with a full cart. Lawrence was arrested and escorted to the store’s asset protection office. According to court documents, investigators found more than $1,400 worth of merchandise “concealed on his person and in the cart.”
Officials said Bowman, “made no attempt at paying for that merchandise and passed the last point of sale.”
If convicted on a both charges, Bowman could face as many as 24 months in prison.
– Jason Maynard, 46, of 923 Van Kirk Dr., Marysville. Maynard is charged with one count of aggravated possession of drugs, stemming from a May 7 arrest involving methamphetamine. If convicted, Maynard could face as many as 12 months in prison.
– Johnny N. Boggs, 33, of 11480 U.S. 36, Lot 114, Marysville. Boggs is charged with one count of tampering with evidence stemming from a Jan. 5, incident. If convicted, Boggs could face as many as five years in prison.
– Alissa Marie Blue, 33, of 207 Elwood Ave., Marysville. Blue is charged with aggravated possession of drugs, possession of a Fentanyl-related compound and possession of drugs. The charges stem from a July 31 incident involving methamphetamine, Fentanyl and Clonazepam.
If convicted on all charges, Blue could face more than six and a half years in prison.
