Officials Monday broke ground on the city’s new water plant at 18000 Raymond Road. The plant will have capacity for about 7.5 million gallons a day, nearly doubling capacity of the current plant which was built in 1903. The plant is expected to cost between $40 and $50-million and take about 24 months to complete. It will supply water to the city and portions of the county.
