The Jerome Township Trustees hosted a special meeting Tuesday – the majority of which was not in public session – to discuss economic development with officials from throughout the county.
Both the trustees and Union County Commissioners voted separately for their boards to adjourn into an executive session that lasted 80 minutes. No action was taken.
Trustee Chair Megan Sloat said the executive session was “for the purpose of negotiations with another political subdivision, Union County, Ohio, through its Board of County Commissioners, respecting requests for economic development assistance… and involves public infrastructure improvements directly related to an economic development project.”
She noted that “the executive session is necessary to protect the interest of the applicant where the possible investment or expenditure of public funds to be made in connection with the proposed economic development project.”
Along with Trustees Sloat, Wezlynn Davis and Barry Adler, included in the executive session were: Union County Commissioners Dave Burke, Steve Robinson and Chris Schmenk; Marysville/Union County Economic Development Director Eric Phillips; Marysville City Manager Terry Emery; Marysville Public Service Director Jeremy Hoyt; Marysville Finance Director Brad Lutz; Union County Engineer Jeff Stauch; Union County Administrator Tim Hansley; Union County Assistant Engineer and soon-to-be County Administrator Bill Narducci and Union County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Thayne Gray.
