A Richwood man on a mobility scooter was struck by a bus on Thursday near the intersection of North Franklin and East Blagrove streets, but received only minor injuries.
According to Richwood Police Chief Monte Asher, a bus turned out of an alley near the intersection and hit a man on an electric mobility scooter going “two or three miles per hour.”
That caused the scooter to topple over onto the man.
Asher said that according to a statement from the bus driver, the victim was in the blind spot of the bus on the passenger side and the driver could not see the man.
The victim suffered only minor scraps and bruises from the incident, according to Asher.
The incident is still under investigation.
