City and county officials spent a moment Thursday morning in remembrance of the 10th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. The 2011 natural disaster claimed the lives of more than 15,000 individuals. Marysville City Manager Terry Emery, pictured at right, shared remarks while standing in front of the Friendship Rock, which was gifted to Marysville by representatives from its sister city in Yorii, Japan. Also pictured, from left, are Marysville City Council Member J.R. Rausch, Marysville Law Director Tim Aslaner, Union County Commissioner Dave Burke and Union County Economic Development Director Dave Phillips. The officials also signed a Joint Proclamation of Remembrance.
