The Marysville FFA chapter held its second leadership lock-in and monthly meeting at the Marysville High School recently.
Each of the activities held throughout the night emphasized what was important to be a good leader and how to work as team using the right communication.
The chapter worked to teach the concept of service leadership and spent time building small toys in the woodshop to be used in goodie bags donated to Children’s Hospital. Students learned how these “goodie bags” can help lift the spirits of children who may have an unexpected visit, or maybe have been in on a longer visit. Members shared the concept that when people reach out to understand the struggles of others, they have a better understanding of their community, and the whole community benefits.
In addition to leadership training, the lock-in promoted healthy relationships and brotherhood through various games and recreation, including a dance to keep energy pumping and the laughter rolling.
