Despite the rainy weather, a group gathered at Lewis Field to recognize Max Russo, 8, pictured center-right, for his dedication to the City of Marysville. Russo sent Mayor J.R. Rausch a letter expressing concern over the cutting down of trees around the city. Russo suggested the city plant two trees for every one they cut down. So the city decided to plant a Red Oak in the park for Arbor Day. Also pictured from left to right: Russo’s brother, Gianni Russo, 11; Marysville Mayor J.R. Rausch and Andy Evans, urban forester with the city.
