Marysville High School’s boys varsity lacrosse team dropped a pair of matches earlier this week.
The Monarchs opened the season with a 14-1 setback at Hilliard Darby on Monday.
The loan goal for Marysville came in the first quarter with 11:04 on the clock.
Mark Frendberg fed Jacob Branton for the first goal of the 2019 season.
Goalie Grayson Fultz made 35 percent of his saves for the night.
MHS then dropped a 14-2 decision to Westerville South the following day.
The Monarchs’ scores came during the second and third quarters.
Frendberg assisted Tyler Richardson for the first goal and Collin Baschnagel passed to Frendberg for the second score.
Fultz was 33 percent on saves for the night.
Lady Monarchs fall
Marysville’s girls lacrosse team opened the season this week with a 19-7 loss to Hilliard Darby.
Gabby Hill and Stella Moser each tallied three goals, while Isabel Delamater added one.
Madi Cantrell and Emma Swart combined for 13 saves in the goal.
JA triumphs
Jonathan Alder’s boys recently opened their season with a 6-1 victory over Dayton Chaminade-Julienne.
