The Union County Concert Association will welcome the Aladdin Shrine Dixie-Land Band, based in Grove City, for its next performance.
The concert will take place at Marysville High School, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The “Voices of Ohio” choir had to cancel its planned performance for that night.
The local Aladdin Shrine Dixie-Land Band will present its special program titled “Dixie -Land music” to help Shiner hospitals around the world. The hospitals are helping children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate birth defects, regardless of a patient’s ability to pay.
This dedicated group of musicians have joined together to enlighten and entertain the communities in central Ohio. A musical piece “Children of Shine,” written by local composer James Swearingen, is played at most concerts. The music is dedicated to the efforts of Shiner’s hospitals.
This talented group of volunteer musicians’ delights in playing for any venue in the community. All proceeds are donated in support of the philanthropic mission at Shiner’s internationally. More information can be found at aladdinshrine.org .
Tickets are available at the door or through www.ucconcerts.org. Additional information can be obtained by calling 937-243-3133. The Community Concerts mailing address is PO Box 299, Marysville, OH 43040-0299.
