At approximately 9:45 a.m. Monday, police responded to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Route 4 south of Boerger Road involving an Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) truck. Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Kathy Durham said Gregory Rigsby, 56, of North Lewisburg was driving the ODOT vehicle southwest on U.S. 36 when he rear ended a Dodge Dakota driven by Judy Taylor, 68, of Marysville. Durham said the impact forced Taylor’s vehicle off the right side of the road, causing it to overturn before it landed on its wheels in a field. Rigsby was taken to Memorial Hospital then released. Taylor experienced non-incapacitating injuries and was taken to Memorial Hospital, then transported to Ohio State Medical Center. A passenger in Rigsby’s vehicle, Michael Mollett, 45, of Marysville experienced serious injuries and was taken to Memorial Hospital, then transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital. At press time, Durham said she was unsure if Taylor or Mollett were released from each hospital. Rigsby was cited for failure to maintain assured distance ahead. Durham said any additional charges are still under investigation.
