The Union County Sheriff’s Office has caught two of three men suspected in an assault that happened in Jerome Village on July 11.
According to a sheriff’s office release from this morning, Marvin A. Martinez, 30, of Columbus, and Sidney B. Mejia, 34, of Colorado, have been charged with felonious assault. Detectives are still looking for the third suspect.
According to the victim, three men approached him in his driveway on Cedar Crest Drive and asked about the victim’s electric service provider.
“During the conversation, two of the males allegedly threatened the victim with guns and tried to force the victim inside the residence,” reads the release.
The victim didn’t cooperate, and was allegedly struck in the face with a gun, which knocked him to the ground. He began to yell for help, and the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.
According to the release, authorities found Martinez and Mejia on Eldon Avenue in Columbus. They are in the Tri-County Regional Jail. Bond for both men is set at $300,000.
