Readers of all ages are invited to participate in the Plain City Public Library’s Summer Reading Program.
A reading program is available for children ages 3-12, teens ages 12-17 and adults who are 18 years old or older.
Those who are interested can pick up a reading log at the library or go the PCPL website, plaincitylib.org, and print a reading log from home.
Readers will have until July 31 to fill out their reading log and return it to the library. Logs can be submitted in person, in the library’s book drop, by mail or by emailing a scanned copy to lpowers@plaincitylib.org.
Children will earn prizes for reading for six or 12 hours over the summer.
Teenagers and adults will also have the chance to win a gift card, a tote bag filled with prizes or other prizes. The more they read, the more changes they will have.
One child and one teen or adult will also win a grand prize Kindle Fire.
For those who would like to participate in the Summer Reading Program but are not sure which books to read, PCPL staff curates lists of new and recommended books, which are updated weekly with the newest library material.
Recommended reading lists are available for the following age groups: birth to preschool, kindergarten to second grade, third grade to fifth grade and sixth grade to eighth grade.
In addition to print books, most recommended books are available as eBooks readers can view on their own eReaders.
