Plain City residents participated in an “Explore the Darby” program hosted by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Scenic River Division Saturday. Families were able to get up close and personal with native species that help to keep the river healthy. Mayor Jody Carney said learning about and interacting with the crawfish was particularly popular among the children in attendance. ODNR is now seeking volunteers to be “stream monitors” for the Big Darby Creek. Those interested in serving should email heather.doherty@dnr.ohio.gov for more information.
