Gus “Squashcarver” Smithhisler, a nationally recognized professional carver, was at the recent Plain City Fall Festival to carve a giant pumpkin for the village. Smithhisler chose “Handsome Harold” the rooster as the subject of his masterpiece. The rogue rooster was first spotted in Pastime Park this summer and was tracked and photographed by village residents. Though his origins are still unknown, the rooster was taken in by a local resident to live among his hens. (Photos submitted)
