Christians around the world celebrated the second Sunday of Advent. Advent, which comes from the Latin word for “Coming,” lasts for four Sundays leading up to Christmas. Each week, another candle in the Advent Wreath is lit. A center candle, symbolizing the coming of the Christ child, is lit on Christmas or Christmas Eve. This Advent wreath is erected in front of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Fifth Street in Marysville.
