Authorities have resolved an incident that involved a threat called into the courthouse Wednesday.
According to Union County Sheriff Jamie Patton, at about 2 p.m. Wednesday a person called the City of Marysville about a shooting threat he or she had heard a man make. The city forwarded the call to the county.
The Sheriff’s Office increased security around the courthouse, including deputies at the entrance and around the perimeter of the property. Despite this, it was still open for business.
“We didn’t shut operations down,” Patton said.
The threat didn’t include a particular target.
Investigators followed up on the threat and found that a man upset at the result of a juvenile court custody case made it. The person was seeking help at Maryhaven.
Investigators determined there was no validity to the threat. The individual was not charged.
