A Florida man, wanted in connection with attempted murder and armed robbery charges, has been indicted locally.
The Union County Grand Jury has indicted Dylan Michael Page, 24, of Fernandina Beach, Florida. Page is charged with one count each of improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle and having weapons under disability.
Additionally, Page, who also goes by Dylan Barcaro, has an arrest warrant on attempted murder and armed robbery charges in Nassau County, Florida.
According to information from the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida charges stemmed from an incident March 31. About 3 p.m. that day, a witness saw two men, one grabbing the other. The witness heard loud voices and a gunshot. A 20-year-old Fernandina Beach man suffered what was termed as a serious gunshot wound. The witness saw two cars flee the site.
Less than a week later, investigators identified Page and another man, Christian Edwards, as being involved and put out a bulletin looking for Page.
Edwards was arrested May 1 in North Carolina but Page eluded police until July 11 arrest. A Union County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled a vehicle over for an alleged failure to yield violation in Jerome Township. Page was a passenger in the car.
According to court documents, when the deputy spoke with the driver, “the odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle.”
“While investigating the odor of marijuana, Dylan gave me the name of Zachary Barcaro.”
The deputy asked to search the vehicle but the driver refused to agree. Because of the stop and the smell of marijuana, the deputy was able to search the vehicle without the driver’s consent.
“During a search of the vehicle, a loaded Smith & Wesson handgun was located under the floor mat where Dylan was sitting,” according to a court document. “When asked, Dylan admitted to it being his and had it for protection.”
Assistant Union County Prosecutor Rick Rodger said the handgun was a 9 mm “with one round in the chamber.”
Marijuana and paraphernalia were also found in the vehicle.
Rodger said the arrest was “pretty interesting.”
“We don’t stop that many alleged attempted murderers here,” he said.
Page was arrested in May 2016 after he was accused of pointing a handgun at his mother. He was charged with felony aggravated domestic assault and served 12 months in jail. Because of the conviction, Page is prohibited from owning or having a gun.
Page was also arrested in Florida in September 2017 for possession of a controlled substance and obstruction of justice. He later pleaded guilty.
If convicted on the local charges, Page could face more than six years in prison. Rodger said that once the legal process in Ohio is complete, Page will likely be sent to Florida to face the charges there.

If convicted on both counts, each man could face as many as 24 months in prison.

If convicted, Meier could face more than eight years in prison.
