Deputies from the Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to a string of thefts from vehicles in the 14000 block of Willow Court, Pleasant Ridge Drive and Hinton Mill Road Tuesday morning between 7:30-10:30 a.m.
A deputy was also dispatched at 10:42 a.m. Tuesday to a residence in the 13000 block of Hinton Mill Road to investigate several vehicles that were broken into overnight between Monday and Tuesday.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office does not have any suspects at this time.
“From time to time we have this rash of vehicle break-ins,” Chief Deputy Tom Morgan said.
He added that almost all the vehicles were unlocked and valuables were left inside the vehicles.
Stolen items included cash, debit and credit cards, wallets, a cell phone, a book bag and a Chromebook.
A deputy also responded to one report at a residence in the 14000 block of Pleasant Ridge Drive to investigate a vehicle break-in where a purse was stolen but later recovered at 8:32 a.m. Tuesday. No report was taken.
“We really like folks to lock their vehicles every night and to remove all valuables,” Morgan said.
He said that will take away the opportunity for criminals to steal possessions.
Morgan explained that suspects are not breaking vehicle windows but “just going from car to car for vehicles that have open doors.”
