Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers were involved in a high-speed chase Saturday that went from Logan County to Scottslawn Road.
According to officials, troopers attempted to stop someone in a light blue 1999 Ford Taurus Saturday at 11:45 a.m. for speeding southbound on U.S. 33. The driver then led two OSP cars on a chase that held at about 105 mph. Troopers slowed when they entered Marysville city limits due to safety.
Both the Marysville Police Department and Union County Sheriff’s Office were notified of the chase. Authorities stopped chasing at around Scottslawn Road due to heavy traffic causing safety concerns.
According to OSP Sgt. Jeremy Allen, they have yet to confirm who the driver was. They know who the car is registered to, but there’s no way to know if that person was driving the car.
“We have an idea who it is, we just have to confirm through the prosecutor’s office,” Allen said.
He said the car is registered in Lima, but the owner lives in Columbus. Charges are pending.
