A Marysville homeless woman has been charged with allegedly stealing from a local business.
A Union County grand jury has indicted Heather Nicole Carpenter, 43, who is listed as living on the streets of Marysville, charged with one count of burglary, criminal trespass and misdemeanor theft.
According to court documents, at about 7:21 p.m., Nov. 10, Carpenter was in the local Meijer store. Because of a previous incident, Carpenter was not allowed to be in the store.
According to court documents, Carpenter allegedly had about $117.61 worth of merchandise that she did not pay for. A loss prevention officer confronted Carpenter at the front of the store, “at which point Ms. Carpenter discarded the items and fled from the store.”
If convicted, Carpenter could face more than eight and a half years in prison.
Also indicted was:
– Keith Anthony Farley, 45, of 599 Kenny Lane. Farley is charged with two counts of felonious assault stemming from an Oct. 31 incident. If convicted, Farley could face as many as 16 years in prison.
– Ashton Taylor Packard, 33, of 7550 Nature Way, Plain City. Packard is charged with one count each of assault, obstructing official business and aggravated menacing. The charges stem from a July 31 incident when Packard allegedly attempted to injure a peace officer. If convicted, Packard could face as many as 36 months in prison.
– Amanda S. Dennis, 39, of 623 E. Fifth St. Dennis is charged with one count of grand theft.
According to court documents, between Oct. 12 and Oct. 20, Dennis allegedly stole more than $7,800 from Village Pantry convenience stores.
If convicted, Dennis could face as many as 18 months in prison.
– Jeiman Alonso Perez Molina, 27, of Warsaw, Indiana. Molina is charged with one count of grand theft of a motor vehicle. According to court documents, the charge stems from the alleged Nov. 17 theft of a vehicle. If convicted, Molina could face as many as 18 months in prison.
– Donna Jean Holbrook, 51, of 925 W. Fifth St. Holbrook is charged with one count of endangering children stemming from an alleged incident between Sept. 9 and 10 involving a 4-year-old child.
If convicted on all counts, Holbrook could face as many as five years in prison.
– Richard L. Posey, Jr., 38, of Columbus. Posey is charged with one count of having weapons while under disability. According to court documents, at about 12:45 a.m., Nov. 6, Posey was driving west on U.S. 33 when he was pulled over, accused of driving 85 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone.
According to court documents, when the trooper began to speak with Posey, he smelled the odor of marijuana. Investigators searched the car and allegedly found marijuana. They also found a handgun in the car.
Posey is prohibited from having guns because he has a prior felony drug conviction.
If convicted on the new charge, Posey could face as many as five years in prison.
– Patrick Lee Gallucci, 45, and Darrick Corlet Hackney, 49, both of Columbus, each are charged with theft. Hackney is also charged with failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer.
According to court documents, at about 8:55 p.m., Nov. 12, Gallucci allegedly walked into Rural King and “went directly to the power tool aisle.”
Gallucci allegedly grabbed two chainsaws, valued at more than $1,200 and “began to move at a fast pace toward the Rural King exit.”
Gallucci left Rural King and got into a 2010 Chevrolet HHR.
Deputies saw the vehicle, allegedly driven by Hackney, headed east on U.S. 33 and attempted to make a stop. When the car didn’t stop, deputies tried to box the car in with their cruisers. Hackney allegedly hit one of the cruisers.
“The pursuit continued into Dublin where Darrick ran a red light at Avery and Perimeter (Roads) almost striking another vehicle. Darrick continued on where he crashed into a mailbox,” according to court documents.
Hackney tried to run “but was quickly apprehended.”
If convicted, Gallucci could face as many as 12 moths in prison. Hackney, if convicted on all charges, could face as many as six years in prison.
– Maribel Odio, 29, an inmate at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. Odio is charged with one count each of assault and harassment with a bodily substance. According to court documents, on July 2, Odio allegedly attempted to hurt an employee at the prison. Odio is currently serving an 18-month prison sentence for burglary from Dayton. If convicted on the new charge, Odio could face an additional six years in prison.
– Victor Henry Austin, Jr., 35, of Lima. Austin is charged with one count each of having weapons while under disability, receiving stolen property and operating a vehicle under the influence. According to court documents, at about 3:59 a.m., Sept. 8, Austin was allegedly driving 82 miles per hour on U.S. 33 in Jerome Township, when he was pulled over for speeding. After he was stopped, police believed Austin was also under the influence of alcohol. Police searched the man’s vehicle and found a handgun. Because Austin was convicted on a 2009 felony burglary charge, he is prohibited from owning or possessing a gun.
If convicted, Austin could face as many as seven years in prison.
– Kristine R. Fink, 54, of Gahanna. Fink is charged with aggravated possession of drugs, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and possession of cocaine. Court documents allege Fink had a bulk amount of methamphetamine at the time of the arrest. The charges stem from a May 22, arrest. If convicted, Fink could face more than seven years in prison.
– Brandon LaMar Smith, 38, of Columbus. Smith is charged with one count each of aggravated possession of drugs, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and possession of cocaine. The charges stem from a May 22, arrest. Court documents allege Smith had a bulk amount of methamphetamine at the time of the arrest. If convicted, Smith could face more than seven years in prison.
