The Union County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash involving a vehicle that ran into a house in southern Union County Monday, sending the driver to the hospital.
According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, at 1:19 a.m., authorities received a report of a vehicle that had struck a house in the 14000 block of Middleburg Plain City Road. When they arrived, officials found a 1997 Honda Accord resting against the residence.
The driver, Sherilyn Davis, 29, of Plain City, was taken by the Jerome Township Fire Department to Dublin Methodist Hospital, and later flown to the OSU Medical Center via MedFlight.
A preliminary investigated determined that the Accord was traveling east when it crossed the center line and drove off the left side of the road. It then drove through a ditch, struck a fence and ran over a pine tree before coming to a rest against the house.
The release states that excessive speed contributed to the crash. The Marysville Fire Department and Pleasant Valley Fire Department, the Union County Emergency Management Agency and the Ohio State Highway Patrol also assisted at the scene. The Multi-County Crash Investigation Team is also investigating.
